WANUSKEWIN HERITAGE PARK VIDEO
Wanuskewin Heritage Park is three miles north of Saskatoon. The word, Wanuskewin, is Cree for “seeking peace of mind.” Within the park is an interpretive center that tells the 6,000-year-old story of the Northern Plains people, by beautifully showcasing the indigenous culture in Saskatchewan. Wanuskewin also contains 19 pre-contact sites, all clustered within half a mile of each other. The Northern Plains Indians gathered here for thousands of years, hunting bison and gathering food to escape the winter winds.
