Elegantly constructed of Manitoba Tyndall stone, the Winnipeg Art Gallery is one of Canada’s eminent art museums. Although the emphasis of the collection is on Canadian and Manitoba artists, the Gallery has over 20,000 works of art ranging from Winnipeg’s hottest artists to 16th century European masters. Of special note is its collection – the world’s largest - of contemporary Inuit art, and it mounts around 25 exhibitions a year.
