Winnipeg. Another well-visited group of lakes, Falcon, West Hawk, Toniata and Caddy Lakes, are approximately 75 miles east of Winnipeg. As part of the Whiteshell Provincial Park, on the periphery of the rugged Canadian Shield, the park has some 200 lakes. Whiteshell Provincial Park is the largest and most popular of the three provincial parks in the region, sprawling over roughly a thousand square miles of spectacular Pre-Cambrian Shield.
