HEIDELBERG CASTLE VIDEO
Heidelberg as well as Heidelberg Castle were first destroyed by Tilly's troops in 1622. The castle was rebuilt by Karl-Ludwig. The castle was destroyed a second and final time during the War of Succession, in 1693. It provides a scenic view of the Neckar River and the City of Heidelberg. It sat at the west end of the Burgenstrasse on a major tour route between Strasbourg and Cologne. It's truly the crown of Heidelberg, one of the better-preserved cities in western Germany.
