The Marine Mammal Hall at the Monterey Bay Aquarium 8 p.m. closing, live jazz music each Saturday and Sunday

Enjoy the magic of summer twilight each Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day through Labor Day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium during "Evenings by the Bay." Visitors will have two extra hours to commune with their favorite sea creatures – and the freshwater inhabitants of the new Wild About Otters special exhibition.

In addition to all the exhibits and regular programs offered during the day, evening visitors will enjoy live jazz, special auditorium programs and extended hours at the Portola Café with "Evenings by the Bay" food and drink options. The aquarium's gift and bookstores will remain open until 8 p.m. on summer weekends as well.

Normal closing for the aquarium is 6 p.m. daily. "Evenings by the Bay" allows visitors to stroll through the aquarium after the daytime crowds have thinned while enjoying live smooth jazz music. Aquarium staff is always looking for ways to improve visitors' experience. Their goal for "Evenings by the Bay" is to help make 2007 summer weekends at the aquarium more enjoyable.
"Evenings by the Bay" activities include:
• Live jazz in the Marine Mammal Hall from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Special feature programs in the auditorium.
• Extended hours at the Portola Cafe and the aquarium's gift and bookstores (meals and store purchases are not included with admission).
