Brothers Brett and Nathan Niebergall developed the Frisée concept to meet what they felt was an unmet demand for convenient and affordable healthy food. The menu consists primarily of organic, gourmet entrée salads with slow roasted or grilled meats. Frisée also offers artisan cheese plates, hot or cold gourmet sandwiches, and low calorie house-made hearty soups. The evening menu showcases familiar healthy dishes with a gourmet touch using all natural beef and free range chicken. 1300 On Fillmore is the first restaurant to open at the $74 million Fillmore Heritage Center. Featuring "soulful American cuisine" prepared by Jamaican-British chef/owner David Lawrence, the 136-seat restaurant blends an eclectic mix of modern and vintage styles to create a jazz-style décor. The north-meets-south menu features maple syrup slow braised beef short ribs, crispy skinned salmon, black skillet fried organic chicken. and fresh water shrimp hush puppies. Opened October 2007.

Heralding a new era in the Fillmore District's legacy of live jazz and entertainment, Yoshi's San Francisco is a unique destination for world-class music, sophisticated dining and cocktails. The acclaimed cuisine of Executive Chef Shotaro "Sho" Kamio celebrates the diversity of Japanese cuisine and the abundance of ingredients found in the Bay Area. Insiders will want to ask for the Omakase Room, which means "in the care of the chef." The glass-enclosed room seats 16 and provides a window into the dynamics of the kitchen.
