Miraval Life in Balance Resort is #1!
September 25, 2003 (TUCSON, Arizona) – Miraval Life In Balance Resort & Spa
has been ranked #1 Destination Spa in the U.S. in Travel + Leisure’s
eighth-annual World’s Best Awards Readers’ Poll. Canyon Ranch Health Resort
is ranked third.
The World’s Best Awards Readers’ Poll, which appears in the October 2003
“spa issue” of Travel + Leisure magazine, ranked travel-related properties
and services from around the world. Destination spas were rated by T+L’s
readers on five essential characteristics: treatments, value,
ambience/accommodations, service and food.
For the first time, the magazine also allowed readers to rank spas under
specific categories: treatments, value and ambience. Miraval Resort & Spa
captured the #1 ranking in each of those categories as well. Canyon Ranch
in Tucson is ranked #3 for treatments, and #3 for ambience. Canyon Ranch
also received special recognition for best spa deals this season.
“Since its opening eight years ago, Miraval has offered an innovative and
inspiring alternative to the traditional destination spa,” said Nancy
Novogrod, Editor in Chief of Travel + Leisure magazine.
Miraval has also received a special Crystal Award from Spa Finder for being
ranked “Best Large Spa” in the magazine’s second annual Readers’ Choice
Awards in the September/October 2003 issue.
The poll, which garnered more than 4,000 responses from Spa Finder’s
readers, also ranked Miraval among the top ten spas in the U.S. in myriad
categories, including: Best Massage; Best Skin-Care Treatments; Best Spa
Cuisine; Best Accommodations; Best Yoga; Best Hiking; Best Spirituality
Program; Best Fitness Program; Best Value for the Money; and Best Spa with
Meeting Facilities.
