Florida Pilot Association Has Fly In on April 10th in Florida

On April 10th, 2004 the Florida Pilot Association will have a Fly-In hosted by Flying Tigers Warbird
Restoration Museum at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM). The Fly-In will be filled with airplanes of every kind including Warbirds from all over the country as they migrate south for the great spring aviation gathering at Lakeland. Visitors to the Museum who fly in will have the opportunity to “park with the past” as they tie down their plane next to the great Warbirds of WWII that have been restored at the Museum. The Florida Pilot Association is offering a special package to visitors; Museum Admission including behind the scene tours of the Restoration facilities, buffet lunch in the hangar and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a flight in a WWII Bomber. All for only $25.00 plus great coupons and give-aways for all fly-in guests.

Kissimmee Gateway Airport is uniquely situated in the center of where all of Florida’s fun events happen. Minutes from Orlando’s attractions and Convention center as well as a short drive to the second largest airshow in the world, “Sun ‘n Fun”, which is held each year in Lakeland, Florida. Kissimmee ISM airport offers visitors to the area the perfect starting point for their vacation in the heart of Florida. The Flying Tigers Warbird Restoration Museum, located at the airport, is where history flies again. Dozens of WWII planes have been restored to their former glory at the Museum, where visitors have the opportunity to see the restoration work take place The latest project to be completed is the B-17 Flying Fortress, Liberty Belle, which will be present at the April Fly-in along with two B-25s and dozens of other Warbirds. Guest speaker, WASP Bernice Falk-Haydu, will be at the Museum with her newly published book, “Letters Home 1944-1945” about her experiences flying at Sweetwater, Texas as one of the 1074 Women Air Service Pilots who flew in WWII.

Visitors don’t have to fly-in to join in on the fun and excitement. The Museum will be open as usual to visitors who arrive by more conventional means. The Fun In The Sun Fly-In special package price is available to all visitors to the Museum. Regular Admission is available as well for those who do not wish to take part in Lunch and the drawing for a free flight.
