Ithaca New York Website ReVamped
The Ithaca/ Tompkins County Convention & Visitors Bureau (I/TCCVB) has revamped the official tourism website for Ithaca and Tompkins County, New York. www.VisitIthaca.com now includes accommodation availability which is updated in real time by Tompkins County Accommodations.
By logging on to VisitIthaca.com, visitors can view availability of accommodations including hotels, bed & breakfasts and inns for a timeframe of 12 months in advance. Also displayed are stipulations such as minimum night stays, as well as special events taking place over the dates of interest for a visitor.
In addition, due to the extremely busy timeframe throughout Cornell University and Ithaca College Graduation weekends every year, the I/TCCVB has made it easy for visitors to track availability for these special events weekends up to three years in advance.
This enhancement to the web site is one of many changes slated for this portal to tourism accommodations and attractions in Tompkins County. Additional updates will include online proposals for meeting planners, itinerary planning for individuals, and online booking for all properties.
With travel trends continuing to show us that visitors are planning and booking trips over the internet with less and less lead time, we are trying to continually react in ways that will make their planning process easier, states Fred Bonn, Director of the I/TCCVB. “Now a visitor can check availability at any time of day or night; an international visitor does not have to navigate time zones before being able to find Ithaca area accommodations and check availability,” continues Bonn.
The VisitIthaca.com web site was revamped as a database driven website in the summer of 2004, and unveiled at a press conference at Robert Treman State Park, a beautiful Finger Lakes State Park with moss covered stone walls, and plunging waterfalls. This scenic picture is depicted on the front page of the www.VisitIthaca.com website.
The Ithaca/Tompkins County Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official tourism promotion agency for Tompkins County, located in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State.
