25,000 Expected to Attend Annual Women’s Celebration in Idaho
In 1993, with big dreams and a vision to provide an event for women and girls of all ages and abilities to participate together in a supportive environment, the Idaho Women’s Fitness Celebration was founded. That event has evolved into the St. Luke’s Women’s Fitness Celebration, a three-day event encompassing a two-day Women’s Show (9/22-23) and a 5K Run, Walk and Stroll (9/24) for women of all ages and all abilities. Scheduled for September 22-24, the Celebration has grown each year as more and more participants share the event with their families and friends.
Never about speed or endurance, the Celebration is about celebrating health and wellness in any form, for anyone. It is for women of all ages and all abilities to come together in a supportive environment. The founders of the Celebration wanted to create an event where elite athletes and grandmothers felt comfortable on the same course on the same day.
This unique aspect has inspired many to line up on Celebration Day and complete the 3.1 mile course, whether they finish in less than 30 minutes or over an hour. Because of that outlook, the Celebration has made a positive impact on the community of Boise and its surrounding area. With the increased awareness of health and fitness the Celebration has inspired many women and girls to start a path to a healthy lifestyle.
The Celebration includes a two-day Women’s Show at the Boise Centre on the Grove. This free event draws close to 25,000 attendees each year, and is host to over 150 vendors. The Women’s Show offers Celebration participants and the community the opportunity to come together and learn about products and services available for consumers in the Treasure Valley. Participants can shop, sample and preview these items and services important to women buyers.
Participants in the 5K can pick up their number and t-shirt at the Women’s Show on September 22-23. Entry forms are also available online at the St. Luke’s Women’s Fitness Celebration website. Call 208.381.2221 for more information.
