Two Cape Fear Coast Events Selected As Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Events
Wilmington, NC: Two Cape Fear Coast annual events have been selected as Southeast Tourism Society (STS) Top 20 Events for the months January through March, 2007. Both of this year’s recipients make their debuts on the prestigious list: the 27th Annual North Carolina Jazz Festival (Feb. 1-3) and the 13th Annual Intercultural Week (Feb. 12-17). These are examples of the quality annual events that help make North Carolina’s Cape Fear Coast a fun year-round travel destination. Come & Play on the Cape Fear Coast!
- The 27th Annual North Carolina Jazz Festival, Wilmington (Feb. 1-3). Cabaret-style seating and all-star musicians distinguish this event as the only traditional jazz festival of its size on the coast, from Virginia to Atlanta. Patron tickets ($175 each) include admission to Friday/Saturday concerts and the Patron’s Musical Brunch with all-star musicians (Saturday). Individual concert ticket prices vary: Thursday ($30 per person); Friday and Saturday ($50 per person, each night). Advance reservations highly recommended, as this event often sells out. - The 13th Annual Intercultural Week, Wilmington (Feb. 12-17). This week-long event on the UNCW campus includes a series of films, lectures, performances, and exhibits that celebrate the rich diversity of cultures within the university and the Wilmington community. The week culminates with the Intercultural Festival, which showcases entertainment, food, and exhibits with international appeal. Free admission. Since 1983, the Southeast Tourism Society has been the largest membership organization promoting travel to the Southeast. Each month since 1985, STS selects 20 of the top events across the Southeast and publishes them quarterly. Events selected for the STS Top 20 enjoy free, widespread publicity and have the honor of being included among a listing of prestigious events and festivals.
