2010 Kentucky Visitor’s Guide Gives Travelers Food for Thought
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Whether you are looking for a way to keep busy this weekend or looking ahead to your summer vacation, checking out this year’s Official Kentucky Visitor’s Guide should be your first step. The 2010 Guide is chock full of photos, information and stories that will inspire and assist in your getaway plans.
This year’s guide blends themed stories and regional sections — written by Kentucky’s top travel writers — with artistic elements that use color and design to make travel planning fun and easy. Included are feature stories on Kentucky’s state parks, horse country, adventure travel and bourbon, as well as reports about dining, shopping, history, culture and more.
“Kentucky is a wonderful vacation destination and every travel region has so much to experience and explore. We welcome out-of-state visitors and also encourage residents within Kentucky to travel throughout the state and truly enjoy everything we have to offer,” said Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Marcheta Sparrow.
Regional sections of the guide provide comprehensive, in-depth listings of accommodations; historic sites and districts; memorials and monuments; nightlife, dining and shopping; performing arts; and nature and wildlife.
Department of Travel and Tourism Commissioner Mike Cooper said, “As Kentucky welcomes the world for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, the guide is a fantastic way to introduce the state to the many people considering travel to the Commonwealth – for the Games or anytime.”
The exciting new look is a result of a cooperative partnership with award winning publishing company Miles Media and the Kentucky Department of Travel and Tourism.
