Perfume of biscuits and mulled wine - Check out the Christmas Markets in Ticino, Switzerland
Strolling through the Christmas markets is a unique experience, not only for the eyes, but for the delicate perfumes and flavours as well: gastronomy has a special place on the stalls, specially decorated for the occasion. Biscuits and sweets flavoured with cinnamon and anise, cheese from the alps, homemade jams and marmelades, chestnuts, acacia and alpine- flower honey… and, not to be forgotten, the great Ticinese wines and spirits, especially grappa and nocino.
Looking for local specialities? You don’t miss Valle di Muggio soft cheese, the traditional sweets from Leventina (”spanspezi”) and Onsernone’s “farina bГІna.”
