Travel Expo in Pyrenees in Spain
The 14th edition of the Feria de Barbastro, a travel expo promoting the Spanish Pyrenees, will be held in Huesca, in the region of Aragón, March 27 to 29. Exhibitors from tourism, sports and environmental organizations and culinary and cultural groups from Aragón, the Basque Country, Catalonia and Navarre will showcase their products and services to more than 50,000 who are expected to attend. The Spanish Pyrenees offer year-round vacation options. One of Spain's leading ski resorts, Baqueira Beret is a favorite of the Spanish Royal family.
In the spring, summer and fall, visitors can hike or cycle in the mountains enjoying the regions' pristine natural scenery and its parks. The scenic Val d'Aran has preserved its centuries-old culture and architectural heritage. Huesca's wine-growing area of Somontano is renowned for its wines and was one of the first in Spain to introduce a ruta del vino.
Visitors can sign up for tasting courses in medieval castles, enjoy vinotherapy treatments in designer spas or opt for breakfast in a vineyard. Those interested in the cuisine of the regions can attend the "Gastromuro" contest where local chefs will create their signature dishes. During the expo, travel agents can participate in workshops to learn more about the regions' attractions.
