EXPERTS AT NAPA VALLEY'S SPA AT SILVERADO OFFER TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST OUT OF A SPA EXPERIENCE

NAPA, Calif., March 5, 2008 – Once perceived as a playground for the rich and famous, spas have gained in popularity for travelers with a variety of budgets and time constraints. Like any investment of time and effort, the spa experience has the potential to be either outstanding or a disappointment, but with a little planning and forethought, spa-goers can have a great deal of control over their investment.

"Whether it is your first or 50th visit to a spa, everyone deserves to have a relaxing, memorable experience," said Yalda Teranchi, director of the Spa at Silverado at the Silverado Resort in Napa Valley. "We train our therapists to tune in to our guests' concerns and desires so every session is successful."

Teranchi offers the following tips to spa-goers:

· Book spa treatments well in advance to secure your desired times and treatments. Guests who haven't booked in advance are encouraged to call the spa to inquire about treatment availability, as last-minute cancellations do sometimes occur.

· When booking your spa treatments, indicate if you have gender preferences for your treatment providers.

· Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment so you don't have to rush. Guests in wheelchairs or anyone who needs extra assistance should arrive extra early so treatment providers can ensure maximum comfort.

· Schedule spa treatments prior to social activities such as parties and wine-tastings. For the comfort and safety of guests, alcoholic beverages should be avoided before spa treatments.

· If you are pregnant or have any other medical condition, let the spa know so it can advise proper treatments. Pregnant guests should avoid any treatments that involve heat and can raise body temperature.

· If your spa includes fitness facilities, consider taking a fitness class or getting a good workout prior to having a treatment.

· Leave your cell phone and pager behind. The world will just have to do without easy access to you for awhile.

· Above all, try to relax and put yourself into the hands of professionals trained to make you feel wonderful.
