One of Scotland’s greatest cultural exports will usher in the new year across the world and inspire people to visit the country, the First Minister said.
Alex Salmond said millions of people will sing Auld Lang Syne at the stroke of midnight on Hogmanay.
And footage of Edinburgh’s street party will be combined with a promotional film of the song to try and attract tourists to Scotland.
