THE ROYAL SCOTSMAN WELCOMES GUEST MICHELIN STAR CHEF ON OCTOBER WESTERN JOURNEY
The Royal Scotsman has announced a partnership with Michelin Star Chef Martin Wishart, one of Scotland’s finest toques, on its October 8-11 Western Journey. The company is also offering complimentary one-night accommodations in a luxury Edinburgh hotel prior or following any October trip.
“We are so pleased to welcome Martin on board The Royal Scotsman,” said Les Maitland, marketing manager for The Royal Scotsman. “His culinary skills will enhance the opulence of the occasion and our passengers will be delighted to have the opportunity to enjoy his exquisite food in beautiful surroundings.”
Wishart is the owner of Edinburgh’s acclaimed Restaurant Martin Wishart, located on The Shore overlooking the Water of Leith. Here, he creates modern French cuisine utilizing the highest quality Scottish ingredients while his wife Cecile manages the front of the house.
“I am honored to join The Royal Scotsman for this special gastronomic event and am looking forward to the challenge of working in a kitchen that not only moves but is also only a few feet square in area,” said Wishart.
The three-night Western Journey departs from Edinburgh and travels to the northern bank of the Clyde at the Craigendoran junction, continuing on to Loch Long and Loch Lomond, the Rannoch Moor, Arisaig, Taynuilt, Isle of Bute and Stirling. Highlights include views of Ben Arthur with its distinctive peak; a romantic walk along the beautiful Morar Sands in Arisaig; and the Isle of Bute’s Mount Stuart, Britain’s most spectacular Victorian Gothic house, built by the 3rd Marquess of Bute and his architect Sir Robert Rowand.
Additionally, through the month of October, The Royal Scotsman is offering a complimentary pre- or post-journey stay at a luxury Edinburgh hotel, allowing guests more time to spend in the splendid city.
