Bankrupt American Air to Outsource Maintenance and Ax 13K jobs
AMR Corp., the parent of American Airlines, announced Wednesday that it must cut labor costs by 20%, as the third-biggest national carrier restructures itself under bankruptcy protection. Among the cost-cutting measures, the company proposes to dump traditional pension plans and stop paying for retiree health benefits.

United to Fly DC-Honolulu Nonstop
HONOLULU, Hawaii â United Airlines announced Tuesday that it will launch a daily non-stop service between Honolulu, Hawaii and Washington, D.C. in June 2012. This will raise the number of regularly scheduled direct flights between Hawaii and the East Coast to three.
