Political developments in Thailand
The Tourism Authority of Thailand issued the following information as of March 14, 2010, 1400 hours Bangkok time on the political development in Thailand relative the anti-government rallies as announced by the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) that are being staged from March 12-14, 2010. The protest has been peaceful. The rally on Sunday, March 14, is limited to the protest site at Ratchadamnoen Nok and Ratchadamnoen Klang and is expected to remain peaceful.

My Exclusive Journeys Reminds Travelers: Most Chile Travel Attractions Were Not Affected by the Earthquake
Miami, FL, March, 2010-Though Chile suffered a massive earthquake two weeks ago, most of the country’s sites of interest to travelers were not affected. The tour company My Exclusive Journeys reminds travelers that Patagonia and Torres del Paine in the southernmost part of Chile; the southern part of the Lakes and Volcanoes region; the Atacama Desert region in the north of the country; and Easter Island, 2,300 miles from the Pacific coast, have reported no damage at all from the quake.

Volunteering on Vacation Program helps visitors get off the beaten path in Maui
MAALAEA, MAUI, HI – During 2009, visitors to Maui gave the island a special gift – nearly 4,000 hours working on projects that benefited Maui’s unique environment through a program called “Volunteering on Vacation.” More than 1,000 volunteers participated in this free program, which is offered by Pacific Whale Foundation with support from an award by the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
