KEMPINSKI BRINGS WORLD CLASS LUXURY TO SICILY AS GIARDINO DI COSTANZA OPENS ITS DOORS
Kempinski Hotels & Resorts has opened its first Italian property, the Kempinski Giardino di Costanza Resort & Spa, in Mazara del Vello, on the island of Sicily. Kempinski Hotels and Resorts, founded in 1898, is the world’s oldest luxury hotel collection. In 2005, it has some 50 luxurious properties in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Asia.
The hideaway country resort, combining a new structure with the Villa Fontanasalsa – a completely restored 19th century manor that was formerly the residence of an aristocratic landowner, is just one hour’s drive from Palermo International Airport. The new Kempinski resort, on lush park grounds and a back door that opens onto the Mediterranean, strikes a balance between the ancient and the modern and recalls the traditional architecture of the area surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. Guests can choose from 91 guest rooms, including 13 suites and two penthouse suites, in either of the building’s two wings. Every guest room incorporates a harmonious blend of typical Sicilian dĂ©cors in a warm color palate.Â
The elegant restaurant Dubessi, opening into the inner garden, will offer traditional Sicilian and Mediterranean cuisine. The Saffron Bar offers stylish after dinner entertainment and the Enoteca del Mediterraneo will offer a superb collection of over 500 bottles of mainly Sicilian and Italian wine.Â
The Villa Fontanasalsa houses the conference center. Â Today, the original buildings have evolved into four meeting rooms and a large reception hall, offering impeccable five-star service and capable of holding 400 people.
The Spa, by Daniela Steiner, will offer the renowned “Care Suite” line of products and will also feature treatments exclusively designed for the Spa that are based on natural Sicilian products such as Marsala/Trapani salt, extracts of citrus fruits, almond and olive oil essences.  In addition, visitors can enjoy customized attention to their beauty needs with Daniela Steiner’s patented salt steam bath beds, massage tables and luxurious leather lounge chairs.
