Winter Concert Series in Abu Ghosh, Israel
New York – November 30, 2009: The annual Abu Ghosh Musical Winter Concert series will feature classical and folk music performances at the Kiryat Ye’arim Church in the picturesque hillside village of Abu Ghosh near Jerusalem, every Saturday at noon from November 2009 through March 2010.

The concert series will showcase several performances featuring works by Bach, Purcell and Shubert. Other musical performances include:
“Handel’s Messiah” (December 26)
“Good Tidings,” a special Christmas concert featuring works by Purcell and Bach (December 26)
“Schubert, Mendelssohn, Rossini and Christmas Songs with Bells” (January 2)
“Fountain of Joy,” cantatas by Bach and the Motet “Jesu meine Freude” (January 30)
“Schubert: Mass in G major” and “Saint-Saenas: Christmas Oratorio” (February 27)
“The Crying Mother,” an Easter program featuring Bach’s Cantata 166 and Stabat Mater by Pergolesi (March 20)
The festival will also showcase a series of Bach Cantatas performed by the Israeli Bach Soloists.
