Iran to promote tourism in WTO Senegal Session

TEHRAN, Iran (CHN) – In the 16th session of the General Assembly of WTO in Dakar, Senegal, Iran attempts to negotiate with representatives of its tourism target countries and plausible investors.
The announcement came by Iran’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism (ICHTO) Director, Esfandiar Rahim Mashayi, who will be flying to Dakar to take part in the session.

Mashayi believes the session provides Iran’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization with the opportunity to publicize its plans for developing tourism to all countries participating in the session.
He is hopeful to meet with tourism officials of target countries from which Iran tries to attract tourists alongside the General Assembly Session and to prepare joint programs for cooperation in the tourism industry. Iran’s target countries include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Iraq.

The Middle East committee of WTO met on 25th of November to exchange views on the tourism policies of the region. The first two days of the General Assembly Session have been dedicated to officials of regional committees to discuss the general policies of each region for tourism development and the impediments in this regard. However, the ICHTO director could not attend the meetings due to his trip to Turkey, Istanbul, for the 1st tourism fair of OIC member countries. He will return to Tehran from Turkey and then fly to Senegal to take part in the rest of the event.
