“online room reservation system” of accommodation available at various tourist resorts in India’s Haryana State

Chandigarh, August 5: Haryana Tourism has achieved a milestone in its history by launching the “online room reservation system” of  accommodation available at various tourist resorts of Tourism in the state.
This was stated by Haryana Minister of State for Tourism and Forests,
Mrs Kiran Choudhry while addressing a press conference just after
inaugurating the ‘online room reservation system’ at Red Bishop
tourist complex at Panchkula near here today. The online reservation
of rooms would be available on the website www.haryanatourism.gov.in.
Mrs. Choudhry said that in the first phase, the online reservation
facility had been implemented in 26 top ‘A’ and ‘B’ category resorts
of Haryana Tourism. She said that this facility had been launched with
a view to facilitate the tourists coming to the state. She said that
Haryana Tourism had emerged as a trendsetter in the field of tourism
promotion and with the launching of online facility, it had achieved a
major breakthrough in the field of tourism promotion. In the coming
time, Haryana would be on national as well as international map as far
as tourism is concerned, she added.
In reply to a question, the Minister said that the online reservation
system would help in increasing the transparency in booking system and
also increase efficiency in a time bound manner by displaying the
status on web. She said that just on clicking the button, the
information regarding availability of rooms would be pop up on the
screen.
When asked about increasing in the profit of Haryana Tourism, Mrs.
Choudhry said that the business of tourism would be increased
considerably. She hoped that tourism also expects to get more business
from all over the World as this online system would also provide
information to the foreign tourists regarding the status of rooms
available in resorts, its features and also about the nearby tourist
places. She said that during the last year Haryana Tourism had
recorded 30 per cent increase in tourists in Kurukshetra only.
Referring to the unique features of the system, she said that in case
of cancellation of booking made online by consumer using its credit
card, the amount would automatically be credited back into his or her
account after deducting the prescribed charges. She said that the
tourists would be able to book rooms on internet from anywhere in the
World. The website provides information about the availability of room
resort wise along with the tariff range.
Mrs. Choudhry said that the users could book rooms by using credit or
debit cards. Those users who dont have credit/debit cards might also
use email option for booking of rooms. For this purpose, customer
would have to make request for room booking by submitting the form
given on the website. He or she has to deposit the required amount in
the resort account in any branch of Axis bank within 48 hours of the
request. After getting the payment, resort would confirm the booking
within 24 hours of getting payment and confirmation mail would be sent
automatically.
The Minister congratulated her entire team on achieving this
milestone. She said that the services like G2C, G2B and G2G would be
offered in online room reservation system. She said that G2C service
would provide information about online room reservation, web based
availability of rooms and tariffs.She said that tourist, tour operators and travel agents would be able to make room reservationÂ
from their offices itself by using G2B service. In its G2G service,
reservation would be made instantly by using credit cards and internet
banking account. Haryana tourism would be able to get the room
reservation status at all the tourist resorts at a given time as well
as various MIS reports such as percentage of occupancy, room reserved
by a particular tour operator or travel agent.
