NEW DELHI, India (eTurboNews) — Indian travel industry leaders are to discuss in Kochi the problems and issues faced by the tourism promoters from August 26 – 29.

According to IATO president Subhash Goyal and convention chairman Vijay Thakur, to sustain the 18.6 percent boom in arrivals and to achieve the anticipated growth of 10 million tourists by 2010, India needs to look into the challenges and threats that lie ahead for tourism industry.

The forum will be held in conjunction with the 21st annual convention of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO).В  This year’s theme will be “Incredible Boom– Incredible Challenges,” from the country’s Incredible India tourism campaign.

The convention aims to bring forth the discussion of such challenges and threats over the course of three days.

Marketing innovation, poster, videos and brochure awards will also be distributed at the convention from the entries received in different categories.

This event will mark the first time IATO is meeting in Kochi, where as the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) held its convention in Kochi two years ago.

And, unlike TAAI and TAFI (Travel Agents Federation of India), IATO does not hold its conventions abroad.В
