Rajasthan ropeway project survey begins

Tourists will soon have the luxury of a panoramic view of Jaipur once the state’s first ropeway project is completed.

The Rajasthan government has undertaken the survey work for the project, which would link Kanak Vrindavan Garden and Jaigarh Road near Amber Fort.

Costing Rs.140 million, the 1.5-km ropeway would be developed on build-operate-transfer basis by the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA).Damodar Constructions Pvt Ltd, a private company, has been roped in for the construction of the ropeway, said a JDA official.The private firm would undertake the design and construction work of the ropeway while JDA would provide land for the project.

“The company has started the survey,” JDA commissioner Jagdish Chandra told the media men.The height between the lower terminal and upper terminal of ropeway would be about 650 ft.
