The Grande Fête du Chocolat in France
The Grande Fête du Chocolat takes place throughout France, November 21-27. It is a chance for visitors to spend seven whole days enjoying the magic that is chocolate, a universally enjoyed indulgence and one of the world’s oldest aphrodisiacs. Although this festival takes place on a national scale, just as with the annual Fête de la Musique.
The festival is locally produced through the initiatives of local chocolate craftsmen in their own stores with events, demonstrations and tastings, explanations on the origin and manufacture of chocolate. Thus each area festival will be purely individual in the kinds of tastings, events and exhibitions the locals choose to present.
The partner cities of the Chocolate Festival will unveil the various mysteries of chocolate making in a decorated chocolate village”. While visiting these “chocolate villages”, and meeting with the prestigious chocolate sellers, pastry chefs and café owners, chocolate lovers will also be able to taste and discover the importance of the equitable trade of cocoa and gain some knowledge on the culture of this beloved product.
