Franche-Comté in France Selected as a Destination by European Women
The Franche-Comté Regional Tourist Board is honoring feminine sensitivity and cultural diversity for the 5th consecutive year thanks to a unique collective brand which denotes that this destination was « Elected by European Women». Whether natural marvels, museums, craft sites, restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfasts or recreational areas, 42 sites in Franche-Comté have been awarded the very demanding « Elected by European Women » prize. This award was given by a jury of 14 women from various European countries (France, Germany, England, Switzerland, Holland, Finland, Belgium).
To obtain it, several steps must be taken, including a meticulous examination by the jury of the press kits provided by the candidates, then a visit to the site to check whether it is deserving of the label.
Objective criteria such as accessibility, cleanliness, foreign languages spoken and subjective ones such as beauty, overall friendliness of the locals allow the jury to make their final selection.
