DISCOVER MANCHESTER ENGLAND’S CREATIVE SIDE

The northern city of Manchester, known for its football teams and vibrant nightlife, is encouraging visitors to explore its Northern Quarter. This area on the North East side of the city close to Manchester Piccadilly Station has long been known as the ‘creative quarter’ and is home to many fashion designers, art galleries and quirky retailers. Having undergone regeneration in recent years it is now well established as one of the unique places to shop, eat, drink and be seen in Manchester.

The Northern Quarter is host to a Flower Market, a monthly Farmers’ Market and a weekly urban street Fashion Market offering hand made items from local bespoke designers. Art galleries in the area include the Chinese Arts Centre located in the historic Fish Market buildings and the Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Fashion enthusiasts can visit one of the many designer or vintage boutiques in Afflecks Palace, such as Peepshow or Andrew Lu, while music lovers’ specialist stores include Blue Vinyl and Brown Sugar Records.
