Czech Republic has new foreign agencies
The Czech Tourist Authority has opened its 18th foreign agency in Slovakia.
On 29 May, the Czech Tourist Authority opened a new foreign agency in cooperation with the Euroagentur incoming travel agency. Slovakia is the 18th country in which the Czech Republic is promoted actively.
David Gladis, director of the Czech Tourist Authority, and Ivo Hartmann, first deputy of the Minister for Regional Development, delivered their inaugural speeches at the opening ceremony held in the Czech Centre in Hviezdoslavova street.
211,000 Slovak tourists visit the Czech Republic. “The incoming tourism from Slovakia does not reach its potential. We aim at making the Czech Republic a perfect holiday destination for our Slovak neighbours rather than a transit country,” says David Gladis.
Foreign agencies present the Czech Republic as an attractive holiday destination. They use various media to inform the foreign public and experts in tourism on the travelling opportunities available in our country. Focusing on various subjects, they prepare press trips to the Czech Republic intended for journalists, as well as so-called fam trips intended for travel agencies and tour operators.
Agencies in Finland, Hungary, Switzerland and Uzbekistan have been opened this year. Agencies in Lisbon, Dublin and Tel Aviv are to be opened in 2003. In autumn, the Czech Republic is to have its agency in China and Poland.
