NCV Waives Single Supplement on Select Antarctica Expeditions – Saving Up To 22% When Combined With Early Booking and AARP Discounts

Norwegian Coastal Voyage has announced a waiver of the single supplement on air-inclusive Antarctica Expedition Voyages reducing rates to normal double rates, saving solo travelers $1,115 to $1,580, on nine departures from October 16 to January 31, 2007. The waiver can be combined with an AARP member savings of $150 per cabin on all departures and a $300 early-booking discount on five October – December sailings (new bookings made by July 31), so that singles and travelers who prefer not sharing a cabin with family or friends can save up to $1,965 or 22% off normal single rates.

Five sailings – 21-day “Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands,” departing Oct. 16, and 19-day “Antarctica and the Chilean Fjords,” with Nov. 1, Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13 departures – eligible for the waived single supplement, early-booking and AARP discounts, and normally priced at $6,595 to $8,910, are reduced to $5,030 to $6,945. Four other 19-day departures – Dec. 27, Jan. 3, Jan. 24 and Jan. 31 – eligible for the eliminated single supplement and AARP discounts, and originally $7,200 to $9,105, are lowered to $5,845 to $7,375.

The promotional offer applies to inside and outside cabins and includes round-trip flights between New York, Buenos Aires and Santiago, five-star hotels and breakfast in the lively capital cities, Buenos Aires-Ushuaia and Santiago-Punta Arenas flights, selected cabin category, all meals aboard ship, naturalist guides, all Antarctica landings, gratuities, port charges, air taxes and transfers.

November and early December, late spring and early summer in the Southern Hemisphere, are an ideal time to see penguins making nests, laying and hatching eggs, fur seals on ice floes, untouched white snow at landing sites and on mountains, and in South Georgia and the Falklands, wildflowers. The soft-adventure cruises on modern ships, MS Nordnorge and MS Nordkapp, feature naturalist guides, noted guest lecturers and PolarCirkel boat landings, explore the pristine polar region of glaciers, huge icebergs, pack ice and abundant wildlife including King, gentoo and chinstrap penguin colonies, seabirds, humpback and killer whales, elephant and fur seals.
