Rijeka, June 30 – July 23
Operas, concerts, drama and dance performances will transform Rijeka into international cultural center for duration of the festival. Many renowned performers and artists will take part in Rijeka Summer Nights, with performances taking place on many locations throughout the city.

This is 49th International Children’s Festival. During festival days, the beautiful Central Dalmatian city of Sibenik is transformed into one big stage. v LOVRAN DAYS OF CHERRIES
Lovran, June 6-14
Besides chestnuts, Lovran is popular for its locally grown type of cherries called Brtosinka. This picturesque town on the border of Istria and Kvarner regions, is home to Days of Cherries, an event taking place every June. During that time, local eateries offer many different cherry dishes, and the closing event is a big festival on the main square with folklore and music performances and a lot of cherry delicacies as well as fresh cherries offered from locals. v CROATIA-GROWING MEETING AND INCENTIVE DESTINATION
Croatia is becoming an increasingly popular congress destination with Dubrovnik, Opatija and Zagreb as major meeting and incentive centers in Croatia, followed by Split, Rijeka, Osijek and other cities. According to National Bureau of Statistics, Croatia had 6011 business conventions during 2008 with 511,338 participants. These numbers show how the Meeting and Incentives industry is growing in Croatia, because they show increase of about 10% more in number of participants and almost 25% more meetings than previous year, 2007.

Rijeka, June 12-13
Fiumanka is the name of traditional international regatta taking place every summer in Rijeka. Sailing aficionados from many foreign countries participate in this sporting event, either as part of competition, or just as supporters. This year’s regatta is special because it features, for the first time, regatta for media representatives called NCPress Fiumanka.

Dubrovnik, May 28-31
At the very beginning of the 20th century, thanks to the inventor engineer Slavoljub Penkala, the fountain pen and ball point pen – revolutionary inventions and symbols of the journalist profession, ventured into the world from Zagreb, Croatia and took it by storm. Now in the same way an award for foreign tourism journalists writing about Croatia, ZLATNA PENKALA, is being awarded. This year, ceremony and 3-day program took place in Dubrovnik May 28-31.
