PRE AND POST CONVENTION ACTIVITIES
FROM SCUBA PANAMA A DIVING VACATION IN PANAMA
SCUBA PANAMA can immerse you in one to four-day dive excursions to historic Caribbean places like: Portobelo, Drake’s Island, a B-45 airplane wreck, the Panama Canal, and/or embark you in an adventure in the mysterious depths of the vast Pacific Ocean. In Portobelo the lust and greed of pirates left in our harbor’s depths, their galleons and mysteries. Beneath the ocean on neighboring “Drake Island,” deep diving drop-off captures the pirate’s history and treasures. On this idyllic enclave, fortunes of legendary conquistadors, corsairs, and pirates journeyed through from South America on their way to Europe. Here below is also the final resting-place of famous Sir Francis Drake, where divers still look for his coffin. To the North, The Panama Canal dive reminisces the days during the construction of the canal. As you dive in Gatun Lake the first renderings of construction by the French and remains of villages, railways, artifacts, and bottles can be seen. While submerged, you can hear the distant churning of the water made by ship’s blades passing through the Canal.
On Panama’s pacific Coast near Panama Bay, dive among colorful and exotic schools of fish in “Three Sisters Islands.” In these splendorous and mysterious waters, you will delight yourself as you encounter snappers, groupers, and Amber Jacks. This site is ideal for snorkelers and non-divers. For those who want to do it all, dive the two oceans in one day. Start in the Atlantic for an invigorating early morning dive near the Bay of Portobelo. Then, travel to the Island of Taboga in the Pacific for a thrilling afternoon plunge. A one of a kind experience. This dive appears in the Guinness World Book of Records. Whether you are looking to snorkel in the clear waters of the Atlantic or embark in an adventure in the mysterious depths of the vast Pacific Ocean. Scuba Panama can mix and match any of the above tours offering the underwater experience right for you.
