Grenada Featured in Region’s Top Radio, TV & Newspapers
St. George’s, Grenada – (October 2007) Grenada has benefited from tremendous regional publicity as a result of a recent trip organised by Peter de Savary for journalists from the Caribbean. Grenada’s development was featured on TVJ Jamaica, in a four part series during Jamaica’s most watched newscast, Prime Time News.
In Barbados, the most popular newspaper, the Sunday Sun, featured a full page article with several pictures focussing on Grenada’s development and the level of investment currently taking place here. Two other articles also focussing on investment will be appearing in the Nation Newspaper of Barbados later on this week. One of the region’s top journalists, Tony Fraser, has also filed his Grenada stories after his visit here for the BBC Caribbean. Grenada’s development was given headlines on BBC Caribbean in a five page article on the BBC’s website and on the BBC Caribbean radio report.
Commenting on the publicity, Director of Operations Richard Hallam said that this level of exposure is part of Mr. de Savary’s vision for assisting in Grenada’s development. “Mr. de Savary has always said that his interests are not just in building structures but also in helping to build the country. When we invite regional and international journalists here, Grenada benefits from a wide variety of positive publicity which makes the global community view the country in a favourable way,” Hallam remarked.
The Savvy Grenada team has gained permission from the BBC and the Nation Newspaper to have some of the articles reprinted and has therefore supplied them to news editors for dissemination.
