In the summer of 2004, Judy Henderson from Vancouver's Inside Design has orchestrated a design that flows from the cool and airy lobby, compliments the whimsical South Beach inspired rooms and suites and swings into the six meeting rooms highlighting everything with colours and patterns entirely new to this genre. The entire hotel is a welcome reprieve from the norm.
"Typically most hotels overlook their meeting rooms," says Judy. "While tourists get to spend their time visiting the city's attractions, business men and women spend their days sequestered in mundane rooms and entranced with power point presentations. However, those days are coming to an end. While attending a meeting at the Pacific Palisades Hotel, you will not be enveloped in an abyss of neutrals, rather you will be welcomed by purple polka-dots and pop periwinkle blue line designs on the floor, honey coloured wall coverings and beautiful blue window treatments with a slight sheen."
In keeping with the fun and fresh theme, the Pacific Palisades Hotel has renamed their meeting rooms after the music and dance styles that would most likely be found at trendy South Beach clubs. The Mambo Ballroom (2130 sq. ft) is the largest and can be split into the Samba and Tango Rooms. The Calypso Suite (1040 sq. ft) has vast bay windows and French doors that open up to a spacious foyer. The Flamenco, Merengue and Rumba Rooms are perfect for smaller, more intimate meetings and events. All meeting rooms have wireless, high-speed internet access and video conferencing capabilities.
