Flavours of Ontario’s Lake Country is returning November 2009

Ontario’s Lake Country, ON: Flavours of Ontario’s Lake Country is returning this fall. Restaurants in the region are excited to be again working in partnership with Ontario’s Lake Country in The Cottages at Port Stanton Passport to Fun Contest. The popular culinary event will run from Sunday, November 8 to Saturday, November 21, 2009.

Residents and visitors to the area will have the opportunity to experience a diversity of culinary delights from Ontario’s Lake Country restaurants. Building on the success of the Flavours of Ontario’s Lake Country that was hosted by area restaurants in March 2009, the restaurants will prepare three-course mouth-watering fixed price dinner menus. Each restaurant in the program will offer a choice of an appetizer, soup or salad plus an entrГ©e and dessert for the amazing price of $20.10. Alcohol and gratuities will be extra.

New this year, Flavours of Ontario’s Lake Country has joined forces with Ontario’s Lake Country to be an integral part of six distinctive getaways in The Cottages at Port Stanton Passport to Fun Contest. The contest runs from September 8 to November 30, and offers visitors to the area itinerary driven getaways to enjoy adventure, arts & culture, accommodation, fine dining, and shopping.

A wide variety of the area’s independent restaurants will be participating, including Abbott’s of Craighurst, Brewery Bay Food Company-Orillia, Chef Konstantine at Harbour Inn Restaurant-Lagoon City, Echo’s Dining Lounge at Bayview Wildwood Resort-Port Stanton, Maria’s Restaurant-Orillia, Moe’s Tap & Wings-Orillia, Ossawippi Express Dining Cars-Orillia, Settlers’ Ghost Restaurant-Horseshoe Valley, Sixteen Front-Orillia, The Grape & Olive Wine and Martini Bistro-Orillia, The Portage Italian Bistro-Orillia, Tor’s Fish and Chips-Orillia and Zats Restaurants-Orillia.

Flavours of Ontario’s Lake Country will give patrons the opportunity to experience the distinctive flavours that local chefs create. Although sticking to a budget to produce menus for $20.10 is challenging to the chefs, they are thrilled to be participating and are busy planning select menus that are both delicious and exciting.

Ontario’s Lake Country is the Destination Marketing Organization for Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Rama, Ramara, and Severn. Located in the heart of Central Ontario, the area is filled with beautiful lakes, clean waters, fascinating waterways, and rolling hills. In this region, major Ontario resorts offer premier four-season recreation and getaway experiences. To be eligible to win in The Cottages at Port Stanton Passport to Fun Contest, entrants submit their passport that must include one accommodation stamp plus their receipt. Events, festivals, studio tours, stores and studio stops are all participating contest partners. The more stamps obtained the greater the chances of winning.
