New Study Reveals High Interest in RV travel and Benefits Amongst Non-RV Owners
(Ottawa, ON) October 18th, 2010 – Today, Go RVing Canada announced that a recent study, conducted by U.S.-based market research firm Harris Interactive, demonstrates that there is a large opportunity to convert non-RV owners into RV owners.
The study revealed that more than 10 million households nationwide are categorized as potential RV owners and express high future interest in buying an RV.
“RVers share a great passion for the lifestyle and recognize the many benefits associated with it,” said Go RVing Canada Spokesperson Angèle Lapointe. “What this study shows is that RVing clearly remains a popular vacation choice, especially for those who are looking for an affordable vacation that offers freedom, flexibility, and fun.”
A significant number of non-RV owners surveyed recognized the numerous benefits associated with the RV lifestyle including health and wellness, family togetherness, outdoor engagement, and economic benefits.
“We already know that RVing is a more flexible and cost effective vacation choice,” added Lapointe. “Canadians should also know that it is a greener travel option. Survey findings also revealed that RV owners believe that RV vacations are more environmentally friendly than fly-drive-hotel vacations and agree on the importance of environmental responsibility.”
The study’s main focus was to understand the perceptions of recreational vehicles, determine what benefits of RV travel are most experienced by RV owners, and what benefits most influence purchase decisions when communicated to non-RV owners.
