Dr. Jane Goodall to Address More than 700 Students at the 10th Annual Science North Roots & Shoots Conference in Sudbury, Ontario

SUDBURY, Ontario – World-famous primatologist, environmentalist and humanitarian, Dr. Jane Goodall, will present the opening remarks on September 23, 2009 as part of Science North’s 10th annual Roots & Shoots conference. This conference, being held at Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Sudbury, will welcome students and teachers from grades 4 through twelve, from more than 60 schools from across the north.

Roots & Shoots is the Jane Goodall Institute’s network of youth taking action to improve the planet for people, animals and the environment. The goal of the conferences is to help youth develop the leadership and skills to carry out service projects in their communities. Science North has been hosting Roots & Shoots conferences since 1999, the longest running program in Canada.

Members of the media are invited to cover this event, and attend a media conference with Dr. Jane Goodall (immediately to follow).
