Haliburton Ontario-What is all the Fuss? Michael Barnes Will Tell You!

Noted author, writer, northern Ontario historian, Haliburton Village resident and Order of Canada member, Michael Barnes will be at the Champlain Shores site on Sunday August 22, at 1:00 p.m. to talk about the history of the area, and sign his book The Essential Haliburton-Discover Highland Ontario. Copies of his most recent book Wolves and Haliburton Forest will be available.

This will be a great opportunity to talk about the spectacular Haliburton area.

Barnes has been writing with energy and enthusiasm for more than 50 years. His career has moved him through broadcast, print, and publishing with The Globe & Mail, CBC, TVO, and The History Channel.

Barnes has been dubbed “the most prolific writer in and about Northern Ontario,” and by some has been called the “poor man’s Pierre Burton.”

Barnes who has traveled and lived in many regions of Ontario, moved to Haliburton 5 years ago from Kirkland Lake. “This pristine cottage country location with a good road system helped us select the village of Haliburton” says Barnes.

Haliburton residents, boaters, cottagers, & visitors to the area are welcomed to visit the Champlain Shores site to chat with Michael Barnes, and purchase one of his popular books.
