Female Hockey Stars Coming to Vancouver BC for Hockey Canada Cup August 31 to September 6, 2009

The top four women’s hockey nations in the world — Canada, the United States, Sweden and Finland — will cool down summer in Vancouver when they hit the ice at GM Place for the 2009 Hockey Canada Cup, August 31 – September 6. Hockey Canada has invited their top three competitors to Vancouver to compete at GM Place, which will be the venue for many of the big women’s hockey games during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games (when it will be known as Canada Hockey Place).

The four teams will play one game each day, with semifinals on September 5 and the gold medal game scheduled for September 6 at 7:30 pm.

For fans, these games offer a great opportunity to see world class sport in the Olympic city at a future Olympic venue. Tickets for the 2009 Hockey Canada Cup start at $10 CAD and will be available through ticketmaster.ca. Fans can also take advantage of a full tournament package — which consists of tickets to all 10 games — for $120 CAD.
