Top 50 Ontario Festivals Celebrated

The “Top 50 Ontario Festivals” for 2004 was unveiled recently at the Festivals & Events Ontario annual conference in Kingston, Ontario. The Top 50 Ontario Festivals represent excellence for the province’s festivals and community events industry, with events vying annually for inclusion in the “Top 50″. The festivals were selected through a nomination process that included a pre-determined set of criteria.

There are over three thousand annual festivals and community events staged each year in Ontario, ranging from one-day street fairs to internationally renowned, multi-day celebrations. Festivals & Events Ontario takes great pride in honouring these top-notch festivals and events currently enjoyed each year by our visitors and residents alike. The 2004 Festivals & Events Ontario Conference was held from February 26-29, 2004 at the Ambassador Resort Hotel & Conference Centre in Kingston, Ontario. The theme of the conference was ‘A Journey Into New Directions’ and attracted approximately 275 community festival and event organizers from across the province and Canada. The conference is the largest of its type in the country.

Festivals & Events Ontario is the professional association for the festivals and events industry in Ontario providing a network for festival and special event organizers to share information and resources. The association is involved with advocacy, policy development, and providing educational opportunities for members. The association also serves industry members whose goods and services are of use and benefit to Ontario’s festival and special event industry.

Festivals & Events In Ontario Guide Released
A fabulous array of over 750 events and celebrations are found in the Festivals & Events In Ontario guide, summer / fall 2004 edition. This new publication has been produced by Festivals & Events Ontario in partnership with the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation.

Featuring listings and photographs of festivals and events taking place during the coming months, the publication is chock full of many favourites that continue to fascinate and captivate people from all over the world every year.
