BLUENOSE II COMING TO TORONTO IN JUNE – Nova Scotia's Sailing Ambassador to make rare Great Lakes appearance for Nautical Festival
Torontonians will have the rare opportunity to stroll the deck of the world-famous Bluenose II this month as it sails into Toronto for the city's first-ever Nautical Festival.
Having graced the dime since 1937, the schooner is one of the most recognized symbols of Canada and the embodiment of Nova Scotia's proud, seafaring heritage. Bluenose II will arrive in Toronto for the Festival's opening ceremonies on Friday, June 19. The schooner will begin traveling down the St. Lawrence Seaway June 7.
When Bluenose II arrives, it will be docked alongside a Nova Scotian pavilion, featuring a wide range of industry professionals demonstrating new products, sharing exciting experiences and offering enticing samples of Canada's seacoast province. Nova Scotia entertainers will also be on site to raise awareness of the province's rich and lively music scene. The festival will celebrate Canada's nautical tradition and is an excellent introduction to many Torontonians to this Canadian treasure.
Further information about Nova Scotia as a travel destination will be available on site, and the ship's visit will also highlight the many air travel options for those interested in traveling to Nova Scotia from Toronto and the surrounding area.
