Spa Eastman is awarded the 2008 “Ordre du Mérite Hôtelier”
Eastman, February 27, 2009 – The Association des hôteliers du Québec ("Québec association of hoteliers") has awarded the 2008 Ordre du Mérite Hôtelier ("Hotelier Order of Merit") to Jocelyna Dubuc, President and Executive Director of Spa Eastman. The Ordre du Mérite Hôtelier is presented to persons who demonstrate excellence through their vitality, knowledge, and vision for the future of the industry.
Jocelyna Dubuc is very proud of such a recognition within the industry: "To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time that a hotel-industry award is given to a destination spa, a spa dedicated to self-renewal."
Although similar awards have obviously been presented in the past to hotel facilities equipped with spas, the main purpose of these establishments was, first and foremost, to offer hotel accommodations to vacationers and travelers. "At Spa Eastman, all our packages with accommodation include activities and services that target self-renewal, as well as physical fitness and mental well-being. So for us, this award is a source of great pride, because it validates the fact that self-renewal vacation destinations hold a prominent place within the Québec Tourism Industry", said Ms. Dubuc.

The Ordre du Mérite Hôtelier is a further addition to the numerous awards presented in the past few months to Spa Eastman. In the last ten months, Spa Eastman: was awarded the Phénix de l'environnement Award, for its overall contribution toward advancing sustainable development practices; received an honourable mention from a panel of judges, as part of Health Magazine's (an American publication) America's Healthiest Spas contest; was named one of the Top 10 Spas of the World, as part of Spa Finder's Readers' Choice Awards in the "Best Affordable Spa" category; was awarded the Carte d’Or for its outstanding wine list, with includes a wide variety of organic wines, as well as an extensive selection of privately imported wines.
