Juno Awards in Edmonton in April 2004

The 33rd Annual Juno Awards has attracted top Canadian Talent in 2004, and Edmonton is place to be if you’d like to be in the audience. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) together with CTV announced today that Barenaked Ladies, Michael BublГ©, Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne, Sarah McLachlan and Nickelback will perform at the 2004 JUNO Awards, Canada’s Music Awards.

These six Canadian artists and bands represent a cross-section of some of the very best in today’s music industry. CARAS and CTV also confirmed today that more artists will be added to the performance roster at a later date.

Seven-time JUNO Award winners Barenaked Ladies have sold over 10 million records worldwide. The multi-platinum quintet, who hosted the telecast of the 2002 JUNO Awards, is about to kick off a North American Tour February 11th to promote their new album Everything to Everyone.

Michael BublГ©, the 25-year-old Swing singing sensation from Vancouver, makes his debut performance at the JUNO Awards. He grew up listening to music legends Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald and Stevie Wonder - all who clearly influenced his musical style - as proven on his self-titled debut album.

Singer - Songwriter Nelly Furtado burst onto the music scene in 2000 with her massive hit song I’m Like A Bird. In 2001 she was the recipient of four JUNO awards, including Best Single (I’m Like A Bird), Best Songwriter, Best New Solo Artist and Best Producer.

Teen rocker Avril Lavigne’s sassy vocals garnered her four JUNO Awards last year for her debut album Let Go, including New Artist of the Year, Single of the year (Complicated), Pop Album of the Year and Album of the Year.

Songstress Sarah McLachlan — a five-time JUNO Award winner — and creator of the successful all female artist festival Lilith Fair, returns to the music scene with the release of her first new album in six years, Afterglow.
Performers Announced for the 2004 JUNO Awards

Alberta-native rockers Nickelback, whose monster hits How You Remind Me, Hero and Too Bad have put the band on the international music scene, are recipients of five JUNO Awards to date. Nickelback is nominated for two Grammy Awards this year, including Best Rock Song for Someday and Best Rock Album for The Long Road.

Tickets for the 2004 JUNO Awards telecast go on sale Saturday, February 14th at 10 a.m. EST.
