In Celebration of Black History Month in Toronto, Canada

2005 marks the tenth anniversary of Kuumba at Harbourfront Centre celebrating African Heritage Month with two jam-packed weekends of concerts, dance premieres, engaging and provocative readings, panels, a film series curated by the Get Reel Film Festival, a visual arts exhibition premiere, as well as a variety of activities for families.

Some festival highlights include acclaimed Jamaican Reggae vocalist/songwriter Junior Kelly performing an intimate Unplugged solo set intertwined with onstage discussions on February 5.

Toronto’s critically acclaimed Somali hip-hop artist K’naan officially launches his debut CD The Dusty Foot Philosopher accompanied by The Love Movement on February 12.
