Sydney to go “on sale”
Exhibitor bookings are pouring in for this year’s Sydney on Sale event, which features a program of new initiatives designed to deliver results for both visitors and exhibitors. Now in its 16th year, the business events show will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour on July 14 and July 15.
The event organizer, the Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau, has been inundated with calls since opening the show to exhibitor bookings on March 1.
“Sydney on Sale has always been popular but changes over recent years, like the introduction of seminars and regional and interstate exhibitors, have made it a must-do in industry diaries,” SCVB General Manager Marketing Karen Bolinger said.
“Last year’s show attracted more than 400 exhibitors and 6000 visitors and we are expecting this year’s show to be just as strong.
Bolinger said the 2005 show would feature a number of innovations, which include an extended seminar program for visitors, an online appointment system for visitors wanting to book times with exhibitors, an optional SMS show reminder for pre-registered visitors, among others.
Bolinger said seminar programs would be announced next month, with visitor registrations opening in May.
“Membership and industry feedback tells us that Sydney on Sale is a very important marketing tool for many companies and a major source of information for event planners and coordinators in corporate and government circles, “ she said.
“The show is the highest profile business events show in the Australasian market and provides a great forum for people to learn about the latest event product and services and conduct business in an inspiring and educational environment.
“The changes to this year’s show are designed to make Sydney on Sale even more interesting and more exciting to ensure it continues to deliver results for all who attend.”
