Kingfisher Airlines Signed Multi-Year Training Agreement With Emirates-CAE Flights

Kingfisher Airlines, India’s fastest growing airline, recently signed a five year agreement with Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) for pilot training on Airbus A320 aircraft. The training program, which included both instruction and simulator time for initial and recurrent, training for pilots, would take place at ECFT in Dubai, which had been jointly operated by Emirates and CAE under a long-term teaming agreement.
This announcement was made recently at “The 2005 Dubai Air Show” by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates and President of the Department of Civil Aviation Dubai; Dr. Vijay Malllya,Chairman and Managing Director, Kingfisher Airlines; Nigel Harwood, Chief Operating Officer; Robert E Brown, CAE’s President and Chief Executive Officer, and Jeff Roberts, CAE’s Group President, Civil Training and Services, who attended a contract signing ceremony to commemorate the event.
“The inking of this memorandum is a significant milestone for us and marks yet another step in our journey to partner with the best-in-class”, said Mr. Nigel Harwood, Chief Operating Officer, Kingfisher Airlines Limited.
“This contract marks a major achievement for CAE,” said Mr. Brown. “Through contracts like these, CAE is proving itself the training provider of choice for the rapidly expanding Indian start-up airline market.”
ECFT had been part of the Airbus-CAE cooperation, which combined the two companies’ expertise to provide increased access to training to customers around the globe. Established in 2002, the Airbus-CAE cooperation operated the largest fleet of Airbus full-flight simulators in the world.
CAE had been leading provider of simulation and modelling technologies as well as integrated training services for commercial and business aviation, and defence customers worldwide.
Kingfisher Airlines had been India’s first and only private airline to commence its operations with a brand new fleet of aircraft.
