Lufthansa Commences Flights from Munich to Tashkent – Lufthansa’s first direct connection from Munich to Central Asia
East Meadow, NY, August, 2009 — Lufthansa is starting its services from Munich to Tashkent as of March 28, 2010, with three weekly flights to the Uzbek capital. All flights depart at 8:15pm, which allows all US passengers arriving in Munich to easily connect to Tashkent.
The route will be flown with a Boeing 737 operated by the Swiss carrier, PrivatAir, which seats 24 passengers in Business Class and 84 in Economy Class. “With this new destination, we offer our customers the first direct connection from our Munich hub to Central Asia. Our passengers will enjoy the utmost comfort on the route on board the Boeing 737-800,” said Thomas KlГјhr, Group Representative and Head of Hub Management Munich.
Tashkent, the largest city in Uzbekistan, has a population of about two million. Rich in commodities and farm produce, the country has incentivized a number of prominent companies to establish presence there. Tashkent also offers an array of tourist attractions and is a key starting point for trips on the Silk Road.
Business Class passengers on board the Boeing 737-800 enjoy their travel experience in a relaxing atmosphere in the spacious cabin. The PrivatAir jet offers all the benefits of a Lufthansa long-haul product. These include the latest in-flight entertainment system, Star Chef in-flight menus, which are changed every two months, and all the amenities for passengers to continue working in the aircraft cabin. In the sleeping mode, the seats fold down almost horizontally into a two-meter bed. Passengers in Economy Class can also look forward to a high level of comfort. The limited number of seats ensures passengers an individual and personal service. All seats have their own video screens, additional legroom and ergonomically designed backrests. As on all flights, Miles & More members can also look forward to earning miles on this route.
Flights can be booked online at www.lufthansa.com, the Lufthansa Call Center (phone 800 645-3880), Lufthansa travel agency partners or Lufthansa airport ticket counters.
