Sunwing adds Cancun and Riviera Maya from Sault Ste. Marie

The beaches of Cancun and the Riviera Maya are now more accessible than ever before for residents in and around Sault Ste. Marie: Sunwing has just announced weekly flights to this popular hotspot this winter.

This is Sunwing's inaugural year of service out of Sault Ste. Marie. The flights will operate every Wednesday from December 17 to March 18 with one and two week vacations available. Travellers can book air only or choose from a dazzling array of hotels in Cancun – 23 in all – plus another 34 resorts available in the Riviera Maya, a sunsoaked stretch of beachfront hotels south of Cancun.

Sunwing is also offering flights to Varadero, Cuba this winter, with an excellent selection of holiday packages in both Varadero and Havana.

"We pride ourselves on introducing affordable flights and travel options to smaller communities in Canada," says Daryl McWilliams, the company's vice-president of sales and marketing. "Our customers tell us they love the convenience of flying direct to the sun from their hometown airports – especially during the winter months."

All flights will be on board Sunwing Airlines, which offers a "more frills" Elite Service. Passengers can enjoy a welcoming glass of champagne, a choice of hot meals served with wine, and in-flight movies and music with yours-to-keep headsets on all flights. This year the carrier is introducing its Elite Plus Service where for as little as $40 per flight sector passengers will receive advance seat selection, additional-legroom seats, 30 kg baggage allowance, priority check-in in Canada and priority boarding.
