Air Canada ranked Best Airline in North America in international survey of air travellers

Air Canada has been ranked as Best Airline in North America in an exhaustive worldwide survey of more than 12 million air travelers. Star Alliance, of which Air Canada is a founding member, was ranked as Best Airline Alliance. The annual survey of air travelers was conducted by UK-based independent research firm Skytrax between June 2004 and May 2005 using 35 different aspects of passenger satisfaction for each airline’s product and service standards. This independent survey is regarded in the air transportation industry as a primary benchmarking tool for passenger satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world.

“We are honored to be acknowledged by travelers around the world as the
best airline in North America,” said Montie Brewer, President and CEO of Air
Canada. “I am incredibly proud of our employees and I congratulate them on
this positive recognition of their efforts to provide our customers with an
all-round quality travel experience – bar none. This award confirms that our
focus on customer-driven products and innovation coupled with quality service
delivery is truly what our customers want. The recognition of Star Alliance as
the world’s Best Airline Alliance makes this a win-win all round.”

“Every member of the ACE family can take pride in this major
accomplishment and I salute Air Canada and its employees on this prestigious
Best Airline in North America Award,” said Robert Milton, Chairman, President
and CEO of ACE Aviation Holdings Inc, the parent company of Air Canada. “Air
Canada’s tremendous progress and achievements since its restructuring is a
driving force in creating value for ACE and its strategy of growing its other
business units into stand alone profitable companies.”
