Travel Journalists – All aboard the Via Rail Tulip Train from Montreal
VIA Rail Canada and the Canadian Tulip Festival invite you to experience Canadas internationally renowned tulip celebration with a unique train ride from Montreal on May 15, 2004. The morning “Tulip Train” will feature a VIA/Tulip Breakfast, a sampling of Tulip Julip, a Tulip Explosion floral demonstration, Tulip dГ©cor, music, animation and intermingling with the Tulip Festival Team and Canada’s Capital Region civic and tourism dignitaries.
International, national, Ontario, Quebec and Montreal travel and gardening journalists are welcome to experience the Tulip Train and attend the Tulip Festival for a one-day visit, a one-day/one-night visit, or a two-day/two-night visit with complementary accommodation at one of the Tulip Festival Official Hotels.
Ottawa and Gatineau tourism officials will assist the Tulip Team in providing a one day guided tour of the Festivals four Official Sites, as well assisting in making arrangements for activities during the longer visits.
VIA Rail Canada, through the Canadian Tulip Festival, are providing VIA One transportation to qualifying journalists from anywhere along the Quebec City – Windsor Corridor. The Canadian Tulip Festival will make the rail arrangements.
Montreal accommodation is available for overnight on May 14, again with arrangements being made by the Canadian Tulip Festival.
Montrealers love the Canadian Tulip Festival and provide more visitors each year to the spring celebration than any other region. The 2004 Tulip Train is a pilot project looking towards implementing such an excursion in future years.
