Travel light and Tango for less with Air Canada’s ‘GO Discount’

Air Canada has just made its everyday low Tango fare even more affordable. With the launch today of its GO Discount, available exclusively at www.aircanada.com, Air Canada customers choosing
Tango fares can save a further $10 (USD$8) each way, or $20 (USD$16) round trip, if they travel light and don’t change their plans. Starting today, Air Canada customers booking a Tango fare at aircanada.com, will be eligible for up to $20 savings on their return trip if they agree not to make any changes to their booked itinerary, and agree to fly without checked baggage, within the normal carry-on bag allowance only. To obtain the discount, customers simply click on the GO Discount Tango fare option when making their online booking.

“The ability for customers to choose what is relevant for them is a key
driver in Air Canada’s ongoing simplification of fares and products,” said
Sean Menke, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “A la carte
pricing is about putting control in the hands of our customers, and the GO
Discount allows us to pass on savings to customers who opt out of features
they don’t want when purchasing an air fare. Air Canada is leading the way in
making air travel simpler and value-driven with our customers’ preferences top
of mind.”
Tango, Air Canada’s everyday low no-frills fare available on all flights
within Canada and the continental United States, normally allows unlimited
changes anytime for $30 plus an additional fare difference if applicable. By
opting out of this feature to obtain a GO Discount, customers agree not to
make itinerary changes. However, a Tango fare still allows for a $150 flat fee
for same-day changes at the airport, with no additional charges for fare
difference.
Air Canada’s four other simplified fares available for all flights within
Canada and the continental United States – Tango Plus, Latitude, Latitude Plus
and Executive Class – offer increasing benefits at incrementally higher fare
levels: more booking flexibility, complimentary advance seat selection, more
Aeroplan Miles and more perks including complimentary onboard snack and
sandwich, Maple Leaf Lounge access, upgrade eligibility and priority services.
Air Canada allows customers to carry on board a total of two items within
certain dimensions and weight limits as follows: one standard article
23cm x 40cm x 55cm for a maximum of 10 kg, plus one personal article
16cm x 33cm x 43cm for a maximum 10 kg. More information on carry-on baggage
is available at aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/airport/baggage/carry-on.html.
Oversize or overweight baggage is subject to excess baggage fees; details are

Air Canada is the first full service airline in North America to have
introduced everyday low, simplified online fares across its Canada and U.S.
network, and is now introducing simplified fares on select international
routes. In addition, it has led the industry in launching a series of multi-
trip Flight Passes that provide customers with savings and flexibility to self
manage air travel using pre-purchased flight credits online at
www.aircanada.com

Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz operate more non-stop flights within
Canada and to the United States than any other airline. Within Canada, the
carriers operate almost 1,000 non-stop flights per day on more than 130 routes
to and from 67 Canadian airports. Between Canada and the United States, the
carriers operate more than 390 non-stop flights per day on 89 routes to and
from 51 U.S. and 7 Canadian destinations. In 2005, an independent survey of
more than 12 million international air travellers ranked Air Canada as the
Best Airline in North America.
